Hometown Kitchen Classics customer profile: (continued)
Dee recalls that everyone loved the roast beef and the glazed carrots ("really special!") And her grandson, normally a picky eater, absolutely went for the homebaked bread. Next was a meal for seven with some cousins (Dee says they didn't realize the minimum was 10 for dinner, but Sue let them sneak by!). Next, Dee organized a church group of 20 or so for lunch, another great success. She recalls one of the fellows commenting that the soup beef was "the most tender beef I've ever had." And then, in mid-April, Dee hosted her "club girls" from Ankeny High School-- fellow graduates who have met together every month for the past 57 years! No doubt this group has seen it all and is hard to please, but Dee was proud to show them what Hometown Kitchen has to offer-- and she had booked the date six months in advance to be sure.
Dee is certainly becoming a regular at Hometown Kitchen. What keeps her coming back? It's simple, she says. "It's a friendly place, with good service and good food." Dee also enjoys the sense of privacy that makes for good conversation, "unlike a restaurant where it's often so noisy you can't talk." The personal attention is another plus: "I really like that for every group that's there, Sue takes their picture and then hands prints to everyone before they leave." And finally, it's not every dining establishment that lets you tour their "shiny, stainless steel kitchen" and then go feed the chickens and wave to your friends up in the cupola enjoying the view!
We hope you too will come out to the country and sample our unique dining experience. We think you'll be hooked just like Dee was!
